I find head lice annoying and the pages it blocks are ones critical of Israel like Desmond Tutu talking about apartheid and it always makes me feel like he means that I am the lice.

Being a brown muslin in white America I have to qualify my concern as 'American' because someone will eventually ask me to stand up for some Muslim atrocity they heard about...

Its not a game... Our nation is America.. My concern is over what WE do... and why and the obvious "look whats in the living room now"... Who is establishing our Policy these days? who is deciding our leaders? Who can make or break an American politician?

Who is moving our money and what is happening to it?

US has finally found some conclusion of that wasteland we created in GITMO. The innocent people we kept thhere were rounded up in Afghanistan for hundreds of thousands of dollars in ransom. Don't you want to know the total we spent on ransom, cash in hand over there? Don't you want to know if it was drug money or tax money that paid for it... The first thing we did was the same ol east India, Iran contra.. We captured the poppy fields... Why?

I would like to talk about how the Rahm "the Plan" that Obama wants to carry it out is alarming to me... setting up our nation as if we also harbor an occupied class of people about to rise up or something... Why do we need to model our nation after the endless slaughter of Israeli military and forced service? Forced to kill.

We have not even effectively address RAPE in the military and sweep it under the rug as PTSD studies show that most people get over it in time.. PTSD is for those who don't get over it. suck it up.
I just don't think we should commit the lives of our youth to be back up to military in war,, its all fake and Darfur will have to wait... A downed rescuer is no help to anyone.

Harman Scandal: All about War on Iran

Jeff Stein of CQ.com reported on Sunday evening that the National Security Agency had picked up a telephone conversation by Representative Jane Harman (D-CA) with a suspected spy for Israel. It is alleged that in the conversation, the spy urged Harman to intervene to stop the prosecution for espionage of Steven Rosen and Keith Weissman, two career lobbyists for the American Israel Public Affairs Committee who headed up its Middle East bureau. The Israeli agent promised to lobby Pelosi to get Harman the chairmanship of the House Intelligence committee, but appears to have gone too far in doing so.

You see, for someone to call Harman and ask her to weigh in with the Justice Department on behalf of Rosen and Weissman is not illegal. But once she was offered a position, the conversation was suddenly about a bribe. At that point she is said to have hung up after asserting "This conversation never happened."

However, the hang-up was not a sign that she was uninterested in the proffered deal. Israel lobbies did fundraising for Nancy Pelosi in 2006 in hopes of getting Harman the chairmanship.

(Note that an intelligence operative is a "field officer," while an "agent" is the local person that is recruited to do things for the field officer. Thus, an American run by Mossad would be an Israeli "agent" despite his or her nationality, just as an American run by Russian intelligence, FSB, would be a Russian agent.)

Two things here. It should be remembered that this whole affair has been about getting up a war on Iran. That was the point of Franklin leaking to Rosen and Weissman in the first place. Someone should go back through Harman's statements on Iran.

Second, the transcript should be released and if it is as alleged, Harman must resign. Congress declares wars or implicitly authorizes them. American soldiers have a right to know that the representatives who send them to war are doing so on behalf of US interests. And that congressional intelligence reports are not plants by a foreign intelligence service.

Let us just stop and review what is being alleged, and to underline what it means for US security and policy.

The US is spied on, and a classified Pentagon document is passed to the Israeli embassy by AIPAC officials. They are caught because the FBI had them under surveillance. Apparently the FBI is one of the few US government institutions that is not corrupt on the issue of foreign influence on US institutions and policy. Then when the two AIPAC spies are indicted, a Mossad agent attempts to derail the prosecution by suborning a member of Congress and promising her the chairmanship of the Intelligence Committee.

Harman is denying it all, of course. But then so did Rosen and Weissman deny it all (or allege that the lack of a US official secrets act means that their passing of a classified Pentagon document to a Mossad agent was not in fact treason or illegal). Harman's denial is clever, since the NSA wiretap is presumably classified, and so she can't be contradicted until the document is released.

Rep Harman is my Congressional Representative. She lost my vote in January over her support of Israel's slaughter in Gaza. This is a deeper look into her corruption and ... *sigh* it's just so hard to learn that the government is THIS corrupt. It's widely known that NSA and FBI have been legally surveiling the Mossad Office in the Israeli Embassy for years. Decades. If Harman was overheard as part of that tap, she should have known better. If Harman indeed had this conversation with the Mossad Chief in DC, it's no surprise she was kicked off the House Intel Committee. That would have been a brazen and stupid thing to do.

Galon fled the country shortly after the FBI espionage investigation into Frankin and AIPAC was leaked in May, 2005. That operation involved salting Pentagon files with Israeli-suggested materials about Iran's nuclear program was a catastrophe for Mossad, AIPAC, OSP, and the neocons. But, that wasn’t the end of Naor's career. He's recently been appointed Chief of Staff to hard-line Israeli Foreign Minister Avignor Lieberman.

But, here’s the thing: that conversation reportedly occurred five months after the lid blew off the Franklin case. Either Gilon (assuming it was Gilon) had snuck back into the country, or else he was abroad when the call occurred.

If Gilon made that call from Israel, under the FISA law as it was being interpreted at the time, Harman may have believed the tape should have been "minimized", in other words, destroyed. You heard me right. See, Jane Harman is not only a Member of Congress, she’s a U.S. Citizen. Before the 2008 FISA Amendment, which Obama voted to pass, the NSA was ordinarily required to minimize intercepts of international communications involving U.S. persons obtained without a specific warrant.

Harman may have believed, mistakenly, that calls from overseas couldn’t be used against her on that account, and, secondly, because the NSA’s own rules said that warrantless intercepts of the communications of federal officials are supposed to be minimized. Jane may have also believed, mistakenly, that then Attorney General Gonzalez wouldn’t dare try to blackmail her with such a tape -- for any purpose -- given her, and the Bush Administration’s, close relationship with AIPAC. ,..."

NOW, THAT'S LOBBYING

Speaking of Iran and that region, House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (D-Md.) and Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-Va.) sent out a "Dear Colleague" e-mail Tuesday asking for signatures "to the attached letter to President Obama regarding the Middle East peace process."

The letter says the usual stuff, emphasizing that Washington "must be both a trusted mediator and a devoted friend to Israel" and noting: "Israel will be taking the greatest risks in any peace agreement."

Curiously, when we opened the attachment, we noticed it was named "AIPAC Letter Hoyer Cantor May 2009.pdf."

Seems as though someone forgot to change the name or something. AIPAC? The American Israel Public Affairs Committee? Is that how this stuff works?

Taliban defectors: US, Israel funding militants

"Two militants' leaders who defected from notorious Taliban chief in Pakistan have revealed that their comrade was pursuing a US-Israeli agenda across the country.

A prominent militant leader, Turkistan Bittani, who broke away from Baitullah Mehsud, called him "an American agent".

Mehsud, a warlord in his late 30s, has claimed responsibility for dozens of devastating string attacks on both civilians and security forces throughout the feared region.

Moreover, Baetani emphasized that Mehsud was being funded by US and Israeli intelligence services for brainwashing innocent youths.

The insurgents' chief has recruited several teenagers who have carried out dozens of suicide attacks on Pakistani mosques and educational institutes over some past months.

Baetani also noted that al-Qaeda and Taliban's leadership was never targeted in the dozens of US drone strikes in the country's troubled north-west region.

Another defector, Qari Zainuddin, said that Mehsud had established strong links with Israeli intelligence services which were destabilizing the nuclear armed country. "These people (Mehsud and his men) are working against Islam."

Insurgents have stepped up their attacks on civilian and religious centers in major cities across Pakistan which has fueled anti-Taliban sentiments among the Pakistani people.

The US invasion of Afghanistan in 2001 has prompted militants to focus their attention across the border in Pakistan, turning the restive tribal belt between the two neighbors into a scene of daily violence.
